Summary: The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for providing guidance in all areas of Human Resources. This position manages and supports activities related to the development, implementation and analysis of Human Resources and related initiatives across the organization to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives. This position will work closely with all members of management and employees to ensure the Human Resource needs of the company are supported.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include the following: Duties may be modified or additional duties assigned.
- Develops and consistently applies Human Resources policies and work instructions while ensuring legal compliance.
- Facilitates communication and development among employees and management.
- Maintain and regularly update job descriptions, company policies, procedures, organizational charts and employee handbooks.
- Identifies needs for internal training and development through communication with employees and leaders; facilitates and implements training checklists, materials and tools ensuring that training needs are met.
- Serve as a primary contact for Human Resources related questions, issues and concerns from employees.
- Provide guidance to leadership team regarding coaching and disciplining as well as assuring positive involvement and communication with employees regularly.
- Manages recruitment and supports the hiring and onboarding process of all exempt and nonexempt employees.
- Administer employee benefit programs, provide support during open enrollment and work with our benefit brokers.
- Manages Unemployment, Worker’s Compensation and Return to Work programs and provide necessary documentation to external agencies.
- Oversee Human Resources Assistant role: monitors performance, communicates job expectations, provides direction regarding the coordination of Human Resources and Safety activities and ensures timely completion of performance reviews.
- Actively participate as a member of the Safety Committee, provides guidance to Human Resources Assistant role regarding safety and ensure appropriate records are kept.
- Support employees to achieve objectives by actively identifying barriers and taking steps to eliminate them.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree with a major in Human Resources, Business or related program preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of three years of relevant Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity.
- Solid understanding on FLSA and other federal/state employment regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and organizational skills able to work and adapt as needed to provide support to all levels of the organization. Able to multi-task and remain organized and focused
- The ability to handle difficult situations and to diplomatically coach management and employees on effective practices. Remain calm and in control in challenging employee interactions

- Required to be able to sit for longer periods of time.
- Move about throughout the office and manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
